Remote Learning Highlights

At McGehee and Little Gate, an ideal learning environment features brick and mortar classrooms, collaboration between students and faculty, as well as encouragement and guidance from teachers and support staff. We have been given the opportunity to consider what a virtual education can look like, and we now know what that looks like for our students. Over the past few weeks, we have observed students, faculty and parents engaging in some amazing remote learning experiences. To that end, members of the school community have compiled a website to showcase this across all divisions of the school – Early Childhood to Upper School. It not only provides a snapshot of all of the creative ways that our educators and students are engaging in remote learning and provides additional resources for parents, students, caregivers and educators, but the site also provides resources for mental wellness, reducing stress, talking with your child about COVID-19, and health and fitness ideas. In addition, there are messages from our students, ways to help, and stories about our community outreach during this global crisis.
