As a way to strengthen retention and support enrollment for our Middle School (grades 5-8), PES Middle School teachers prepare and facilitate “pop-in” lessons, where they surprise 4th graders with mini activities over the course of a week. From developing their observation and inferencing skills through art with our Humanities teacher, to experimenting with probability by making “mystery box” predications with our Math teacher, to testing water tension and cohesion with our Science Teacher, to completing an Age of Exploration “Cross the Atlantic” simulation game with our Language Arts teacher, 4th grade students and their parents are able to get a true taste of our Middle School’s enriching curriculum by actively engaging in higher-level learning experiences as they prepare to “move up” next fall!
